Internationally known Elly Taylor, author of Becoming Us, is bringing her expertise in guiding parents through the transition of parenthood to Portland! Elly became a Relationship Counsellor and a new mother at the same time – which proved to be both a blessing and a curse! Acutely aware of the internal and between-them changes she and her husband experienced as they transitioned from partners to parents, over the next few years Elly noticed that her new-parent clients were also going through the same things at the same time.
She was on a mission.
Combining her psychology education and over 15 years clinical experience Elly has created an world-first evidence-based developmental model of the transition into parenthood which she is now teaching to birth, health and mental health professionals worldwide.
Elly is has been a columnist for Practical Parenting magazine, The Sydney Morning Herald and Melbourne Age and is Resident Relationship expert for Daily Life website. She has served on Advisory Panels for Monash University, the Australian Catholic University, Newcastle University and the International Marce Society. Elly’s guidebook book for parents, Becoming Us, 8 Steps to Grow a Family that Thrives has been endorsed by COPE, the Centre for Perinatal Excellence in Australia and CAPPA, the Childbirth and Prenting Professional Associatkion in North America.
Elly lives in a beach house in Sydney with her firefighter husband, their three children and a bunch of pets (dogs, rabbit, bird, guinea pig coming…). She is currently working on her next book.
